I'm playing as Lir-Zul and researched feasibility of shield mk.1 and it came as 1% chance. Are Lir terrible with shields or was I just very unlucky ? Also, is there a chance to re-roll that research chance somehow later in the game ?

I've been looking for a new SOTS like game for a while now as I really did love this game (I know I'm one of those wierdoes) and I'm wondering if there's any games that have similar mechanics, specifically around the ship creation/modual destruction, the sort of RTS TBS hybrid thing in a 4x space setting (I tried some of the total war series but I just couldn't get into it) and the asymmetric FTL based on factions. Such a lost gem, and a pity that the SOTS universe has disappeared from gaming (not counting mobile/rogue-lite games using the brand). This was a great 4x, with a great sequel (this game), that just needed another 6 months of tlc patches. I guess the money ran out, or the publishing deal was bad, or the poor launch state tanked sales. It's too bad, because the combat, system defense, ship designer, tech tree, and economy are great. Need a SOTS3 that get's rid of the awful orders system and let's us all ...

Warehouse modules on naval stations increase "base support capacity" by 2 cruiser equivalents. What is this referring to? It's not increasing the CP points for defenses like the command modules for naval stations do.
