The game is made on the Unity Game Engine which can export games to these different platforms.
It is more likely that this is to do with the Game Engine side of things rather than the platforms the developers are going to release the game on. (<- has made a few games in Unity + has friends who make games in Unity)
Don't forget, the developers will need to update movement logic and such to work with buttons on, say, a Switch or a VR headset.
