Dead Rising
7 Day Survivor...
I'm sorta kinda thinking of attempting the 7 Day Survivor achievement, and I'm pretty sure I'm capable of doing so. I've played infinity mode several times and the only times I've died is due to me backing out purposefully.

The longest I've been able to play any game for in one sitting is 2 hours, and I doubt I could cover 14, especially since if I started at 8 in the morning I'd have to play until 10 at night.

Capcom is a bunch of sadists for designing this achievement like this, but I'd really like to know how anyone who gained this legitimately got there. How did you mentally prepare yourself for 14 hours of screentime? How did you play for 14 hours straight? Stuff like that. I may not even attempt this achievement but I'd just like to hear how others got it nonetheless.

Most people will fill their inventory with food and wait in a safe spot for about 20 minutes, which is the time it will take you to die from full health. They will tab back in and eat, then either find another spawned survivor to kill or tab out and wait some more. There is maybe an hour of gameplay, the other 13 hours is waiting to eat food. This is boring as hell, but it's the safest strategy to win.
i just played other games for a long while while i tried the achievement, and i set an alarm to remind me every 18 mins to eat food. also, you can pause the game and put your PC to sleep for a while. the only problem are power outages
You can still pause the game or tab out. It doesn't have to be 14 hours straight unless you don't trust the game to stay running or something.

As for tackling it- the three health books (which you could just look up the locations of) are basically required to get the most out of your food. Real mega buster is not required but undoubtedly makes things much smoother since it erases the NPC's you'll be fighting and re spawns in the security room. Rest of your inventory slots are usually just filled with food.

Fighting NPC's is the ideal strategy for gathering food, they drop the good food that can heal all of Frank's health, but there is enough food placed in the mall to get you through most if not all the 7 days if you are able to locate all of it. It's not hard, just tedious, guide might be needed if you want to know the schedule NPC spawns use.

If you think 7 days is crazy remember that there are people who legitimately made it to 17 days on the Xbox 360, which is approximately the maximum amount of time Frank can spend in the mall before starving. In RED RING era where pretty much every 360 was guaranteed to interally melt after playing certain games for a while.

I got it legit a couple weeks ago, but I'm a terminally online NEET so I had an advantage. It's really not that difficult though either way, the hardest part is making sure you don't afk for too long and die. Ideally unlock the mega blaster and get lvl 50 before you start, the mega blaster destroys all the bosses easily and you really want all the inventory slots and other stats from leveling.

Grab your mega blaster and all the health books first and then keep the wiki open. I personally chose to stay in the safe room almost the entire time and watched TV/Youtube, it was actually really cozy. I only left to get more food. With a full inventory of good food you can stay there for 2+ real hours at a time. Zombies spawn in there on day 5(?) but you can just clear them out.

Don't wait for your food to run completely out though, and make sure not to enter boss areas on low health, they can stun lock you. If you live entirely off psycho food for the first 3 or 4 days you can comfortably switch to mall food for the rest, just be careful not to AFK some place where zombies can jump over and kill you.

And yeah, as others pointed out you can pause and just leave your PC on. If you do it a few hours at a time you could do it over a weekend or something. Good luck!

I for one survived 7 day survivor, but weeks after GTA IV came out the red ring finally claimed my original 360.

Mine died due to Oblivion. That game blew my mind back in 2006.
Just install a trainer to skip time and eat when you’re low health. This achievement was made for kids and teenagers

And shut-in loser no life ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots with an IQ of 80 (me)
I can tell you Real Mega Buster is not necessary

You SHOULD however, get the three Health Books
- One in the bookstore across the Security Room entry in Entrance Plaza
- One in the bookstore right across the Bathroom shortcut, but second floor, in Wonderland Plaza
- One in the empty storage room at the side of Crislip's, in North Plaza

Outside of that, maximize Health time, it takes 20 mins to go from full to dead, so plan around it

Every now and then explore every section of the Mall, survivors and psychopaths spawn and can drop good loot

Lastly, make sure you know how fight Psychopaths and that you have atleast one or two refills ready if you go scouting; there's no 1HP safety like in the normal game,
And there's nothing more soulrenching than being on Day 6 Hour 23, going to North Plaza, and dying to Isabela because you had no refills on hand

Since we're on PC just do this. No one will care either way and if you ever wanted to legitimately tackle this achievement, you could always go and play one of the versions on Xbox or PlayStation. :balloonicorn:
They could’ve put in a quick save option so that people can you know live their lives.

I am I’m not even gonna try for that one.

14 hours out of my day is simply too much to ask.
