Singularity

Microstuttering
I've been able to successfully play through this game with around 8 hours put in and coming to what feels like the end of the game. However, I'm experiencing weird lag spikes every 5-7 seconds now that I didn't experience in the entire 8 hours I've been playing. I guess I can blame the newest NVIDIA driver for that but I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue and if there's a fix. I've been through the entire Discussion section for this game and can't seem to find anyone else with my issue (which obviously means it's just my machine most likely) but I was hoping that there might be a fix so I can finish this kick ass game.

My specs:
• AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
• GTX 1070 8 GB (latest update)
• Win 10 (latest update)
• 32 GB RAM
• Game is installed on an NVME drive
•• Playing game in windowed mode at 2560x1440 on an ultrawide monitor

Update: So I was able to finish the game a couple months ago (very fun game) and I read somewhere on the Internet that the cause of the stuttering was the game trying to connect to it's multiplayer servers. These servers are long gone but the game still tries to connect to them anyway. Here's how I solved the problem:

1. Assuming you're on Windows, go to Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security
2. Then click on Outbound Rules which you should find in the left column
3. Then click on New Rule which should open a new window
4. Under What type of rule would you like to create, select Program then hit next
5. In the Program Path box, hit navigate, then find the Singularity .exe (should be under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Singularity\Binaries)
6. Once you've found the Singularity.exe, click next and then select Block Connection on the next page. Hit next once you've done all that.
7. On the next page, make sure all the boxes are checked and then click next.
8. After that, just give the rule a name (I just named my Singularity) and hit Finish

Hope this helps!

Damn, must be a driver issue then.

New driver (526.47) didn't solve the problem, still bad microstuttering.

I'm using the default nivida driver (not the game ready).
Just finished the game on win10 no problems...

i have gtx1080 and i couldn't get this game to stutter if i tried my hardest. its butter smooth

its probably because you have an AMD cpu, idk why people buy those things. Seriously every steam community hub game ive ever clicked over the past 20yrs of being alive has the words AMD somewhere on the first page of the hub (because theres always issues with AMD)

id choose nvidia/intel over amd even if AMD was 50% faster. They are a weird bad company who do strange things with their cpu architectures

-fiddle around with windowed mode, fullscreen mode, borderless fullscreen mode, disabling the games vsync and using nvidia control panels vsync instead fixes a lot of games stutters)
-run windows update
-update motherboard bios
-update nvidia drivers again (new drivers have cuda version 12.0, which is cool because its been version 11.0 for like a decade)

Even with a Intel CPU i have stutters aswell. Son it's not AMS related.

Got this happening as well. Running at 121 fps and every 7 or so seconds it will dip to 117. Additionally, frame limiting through Rivatuner doesn't help - it seems to have a slight dip in framerate below the cap I set regardless. For example, if I set it at 100 - it will dip to 95. If I cap to 60, it will dip to mid 50s, etc.

I very much doubt its an AMD issue as I only experience this problem in this particular game. I tried to enable/disable different settings in the registry to see if I could pinpoint the issue, but no luck. This isn't game-breaking by any means, but it is slightly annoying, especially during combat.

7900xtx, 5800x3d, 32gb ddr4, Win 10

I have exactly the same problem LuckyJensen mentioned.

Ryzen 5900x, gtx 1080

Same here. Very annoying. I want to play again , but with this , almost impossible to ignore it.

I can confirm that is not a AMD issue. I have a RTX 3090.

Just installed the game. Have played this game plenty of time years back. Now it's stuttering.

I heard you can fix it by disconnecting from internet. Very weird.
