Alternative AMD Radeon Performance Fix - 2025 (UPDATED)
Computer: RX 7900 XTX, i9-12900K, 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL14, Win 11 Pro 24H2 (latest build), Adrenalin 25.8.1 driver

Optimizing the game's performance for at least a smooth and steady 60 fps experience can be tricky for AMD Radeon (and Nvidia) users.

There is already an AMD Performance fix using DXVK Async layer with a few tweaks you may want to check too:

After some research and personal testing, I found an alternative performance fix without using Sporif's dxvk-async translation layer/patch. It only requires capping the framerate externally and some tweaks to in-game settings and display driver config (Adrenalin Software).

The tweaks are as follows:

External Framerate Limiter

  • Use a reliable external third party (such as RivaTuner Statistic Server -RTSS-) or the in-driver framerate limiter and limit it to 60 FPS or your target achievable steady framerate.

Display Driver Config (Adrenalin Software)

  • Force the in-driver V-Sync globally or in the driver game's profile (Wait for Vertical Refresh set to Always on). Alternatively, you can enable Radeon Enhanced Sync if you are using a high refresh rate (higher than 60 Hz) monitor and aiming to a steady high frame rate. Also, VRR/FreeSync is recommended.
  • Enable Radeon AntiLag.

In-game Graphics Settings

  • Set in-game V-Sync off.
  • Keep FPS uncapped in-game.
  • Set the Object Quality setting to Low in-game (DO NOT use any other value).

After using these tweaks and settings, you should enjoy a smooth and steady 60 FPS experience. In my case, I had a 99% smooth and steady 60 FPS/Hz at 2160p, ultra settings (except Object Quality set to Low) using these tweaks. I hope it helps.

Updated (as of 8/1/2025): Reportedly this workaround and guide still work. Enjoy! :D

Thanks so much for this post! Even just following the last two sections, without using the external tool, produced a substantial improvement from what I was experiencing before. Now I am finally able to play this game without feeling nauseated....

Glad it helped. Before posting this guide, I didn't stop until I found this combo of settings. The ones in the last two sections are essential and pretty much mandatory, and using the RTSS framerate limiter or other external FPS limiter helps achieve maximum frametime consistency and further improve frame pacing.
Thank you very much. Finally this game is playable for me.
All of this still applies for AMD GPUs.
2025: 7900 XTX, R7 5800X3D, Adrenalin 25.8.1

Using DXVK 2.7.0 GPLAsync and the following set in dxvk.conf:
dxvk.enableAsync = true
d3d11.cachedDynamicResources = "c"

In-game "OBJECTS" still needs to be on Low.

I get locked 60 fps using Chill. Or 120 if you also enable driver AFMF.

It also runs just as well or a tiny bit better on Linux
