Hello there Cres,
Thank you for your interest in The Black Death.
You can indeed rent your own server, from one of our providers, or you can run your own LAN server straight from your own PC.
Here is a link to our server providers who offer the service for The Black Death:

Here is our guide for Setting up a Dedicated Server. Please note, this guide is more akin to setting up a LAN server rather than the above "rented" server from a provider. This guide is going to be updated soon, as the "Experimental Server Settings" at the bottom of this guide currently do not function.

Hello there ReDSoloCup,
We do have a couple of official guides that [SIG] Dmitri and myself wrote for The Black Death, if you would like to check them out. The Quick Start Guide in particular has some tips on survival and initial gameplay. We are in the process of getting these updated to match our new V0.28 update that released on Saturday.

I really want to buy some peasant contract for my property.
Whatever you are doing it is based on the tutorial from about 3-4 months ago, it's been a different tutorial for some time. Peasant contracts are found by rescuing prisoners now, and before that you just simply bought them.
Hello Temeria & GamerbugUK,
The tutorial quest/mission that you get from the Town Earl when you first speak with him, has been left in from a previous system I believe. We have the new quests that appear in the top right hand corner of the HUD in game. The tutorial with the Town Earl, who directs you to the Rat corpse, the Guard Captain and Carpenter I don't think is completable, depending on where you accept this quest. There is a Town Earl in Freeman's Port near the docks, Raven's Reach in the Market District, Dunstead Fort and I think also Farleigh Citadel.
The NPC Contracts are now found at Bandit encampments, you need to free townsfolk and villagers from cages that are barricaded up. In return for their freedom you will receive an NPC contract. These are used in recipes for the Mining Camp and Lumber Mills too.
Thanks for posting and I hope this cleared things up!
Hello there Ivan Vodka,
Thank you for your YouTube video and also for all of your Steam chat messages. This is all very much appreciated. I did have a watch of all your videos and I have also read all your messages from what you explained happened in game.
Would you be able to confirm that this happened after our V0.32 update was released? Or did this all happen before V0.32?
Thank you again.
This happened after the wipe. This was before the current updates. Since the next wipe did not happen. A lot of copied items are kept by players and hackers. I demand a new wipe!
