The best I can offer is using a LAN server and multiple computers to connect to it. Since DDNet doesn't need much CPU/GPU resources you probably can find a way to run the game multiple times at the same time on the same machine.

Hmmm... that would be possible in terms of system resources, but I can't imagine playing without a split-screen, since one player can adwance faster then the other... I allready bought it for the singleplayer experience, but it would make it so much more fun to play with my kids together at the same time... too bad. :(
