Rather disappointing aspects of the game.
Well, so far.. I'm liking this game a lot more than Ty 2, but this game has quite some things that feel like bs.

1. I don't really mind that there are some parts of the game where you need to do melee attacks, but there are some problems with it. The melee being the same key as the throwing rang attack key sucks.
The bite attack could have been the melee attack key, while the main attack button does the ranged attack, even more since, at least for now, I only found 2 cases where biting was used.

2. The scarcity of health pickups is troublesome. While entering and leaving the crab mobile restores its own health, Ty himself only restores health by either finding one of those rare health pickups, or by jumping or leaving a body of water (which fully heals him).
That makes the game difficulty go really high, even more depending on some missions where you may end up having to do its entirety without the possibility of restoring health (Beside I think that the Earth store restores health? But I can't check its description outside of a shop, for some reason).

3. You guys really had to make the crab mobile tumble? That's one of the most annoying vehicles in the franchise. Without counting that when the crab mobile is rolling around, it makes you very vulnerable to Quinkan attacks. Also, why the hell you guys added platforming sessions on the crab mobile zones? Is it retaliation for the criticism over the vehicle on the second game?

4. Some can deliver you a cheap hit from the start of it, if you don't react too fast. I've had a few bosses manage to hit my character few seconds after the cutscene presenting the boss ended, and the boss fight begun. There was even a boss fight in a circular area where was kind of a chase sequence with doors. The boss begun running so fast, that took me quite a while to process that I had to run towards the camera.
At least a crab boss on a beach was kind of a revenge to this kind of bs, because depending on the distance, it doesn't do the beam of 100% you're gonna be hurt by this, and allow you to snipe its eyes with the boomerangs.

5. I saw some cases where the game uses its own game mechanic to screw the player. I entered a "dangerous room" on yesterday playthrough, where frogs begin falling from the sky.
The frogs aren't much of a trouble if you throw the ranges, but the problem is, if they are close to Ty, Ty will try to go melee on them, and will eventually get hit by the other frogs attack because he'll be stunlocked on the attack animation.
Even the jump changes while Ty is on melee mode, making it harder to avoid the frogs (and also avoid attacks from other monsters, including those who can parry, and you need to wait for them to attack to retaliate).

6. There's a lot more extra stages where you play with a vehicle in this game than on the others. I don't really like that because reduces the amount of times I can play as Ty and his rangs. Beside, the stage I hate the most are the ones of the jet. I always get surprised when it blows up because I don't actually notice when its health is low, or how much damage it receives.

7. Lack of secrets and extra pickups. Game feels more linear than the others because there's less to explore and find on the maps.

8. I had some times to wrestle with the camera to try doing some things. When I enter a body of water and make Ty submerge, there's a chance where the camera will make Ty face upwards, leaving the water, even if I don't want. And I can't move the camera downwards to make him submerge. I have camera centered option turned off, btw.
Also, beside there's the ice elemental power, and the game tells me that I can throw a ice rang on the water to freeze it, I simply can't aim it at the water. The rang is always thrown in front of Ty, regardless of which angle I'm looking.
And there are also a few cases where the camera gets locked in a railed movement for some time too.
Oh yeah, and can't forget that lava submersible vehicle. I still don't get how to make it vertically turn, or move the camera, but steering it while in lava is extremelly awful.

9. Also speaking of the rangs, seems like the auto targetting of the rangs here got a nerf, When I begun playing the game, I noticed that Ty was missing some of his rangs when using them to attack the zombie frills. Did he forgot to alternate targets to fire the rangs at?

10. There are some actions that require you to keep pressing the attack button to keep attacking, in order to do something. The Shadow Laser or something from Black Bunyip is one of those. To activate the generators, I had to keep pressing the button to keep firing the laser, instead of holding the key to make Ty keep using it until cooldowns depletes (Would be nice if the sign next to the generator told me that I have to keep pressing the key).
The most insulting part was when I found a turret, and had to fire it at some Quinkan ships. I was holding the attack key on one, and it were making it shake, instead of destroying, eventually getting my turret killed (alongside Ty). I then decided to keep pressing the button, and discovered that the turret now begun killing those Quinkan ships (would be nice if there was a sign telling how to make the attack of those turrets hurt).

So far, I don't like those aspects above, but I do actually like the game.

I only fear doing Hardcore run later, because the game really want cheap deaths to happen. Maybe this game turned into a Souls like and I didn't got it.
I wonder if the final boss will speak like a souls like boss now.
"Thou tarnished orange rat, shall be mattress to Quinkan empire..."

yeah out of the 4 ty games i'd say this is the least fav of mine. i finished the game on hardcore, which wasn't that hard considering how broken some of the rang stone combos are. but the last boss tho, i think there's only one way to beat him on hardcore. there's not enough time/health pickups to learn his pattern during the fight so i had this stone combo that gave me invincibility if i stand still. i didn't wanna cheese it like this but i had already died and nothing else was working.

Oh yeah, there's also that stones thing too.
When I begun finding them, I found it weird that they stacked, and I thought that was only for placing the effect on other boomerangs, but after reading the achievements and forums a bit, I discovered that their effects stacks.

The problem is, once you're managing the rangs, there's no way of knowing what the stones does, neither there's any information about the effects they give. You only get a brief description of what the stones does when you check a store selling them.
