How do I save the game?

I have played for about an hour and would like to save my progress.
I did one time in after the prologue and then had to restart from the prologue so I really do not want to quit the game without being able to save where I am at.

Edit: played for about 3 hours, was liking the game. Died because there are little to no hp pick ups and when I respawned the game never saved my file. So i'm done playing this.

Well not sure why you didn’t think to go into the menu where literally almost every game has their save option. The game also auto saves but it sounds like you selected the mode where that doesn’t happen

When I had gone through all of the settings I did not see the option to save anywhere.
I played on the hard difficulty but I was unaware that I would not be able to save. The game did not inform me of it.

If hard mode is the reason that I was not able to save then I feel that is a bit ridiculous since the game is decently long. (At least it took me a decent amount of time to beat the other two games)
