The old install games

Is there a way to play those again? You used to be able to play games while the game was installing back on the disk copy, can it be done with these as well?

Back before Steam, when the game came out there were games on the installation disk that could be played while you installed the actual game. I am asking if there is a way to play those minigames now without having to go get a physical copy of the game.
