Turn off SLI if your game is glitching
If upon starting the game you immediately see graphical glitches, such as half the screen missing or black flickering, turn off SLI. That fixed it for me.

If you have an NVIDIA card, open the NVIDIA control panel, go to Manage 3D settings, choose "Program Settings", select Stronghold 2, and then scroll down to SLI Rendering Mode and choose Single GPU.

My laptop only has one GPU and I still have this issue. What do I do to get rid of it?

Yeah, i think you either need to use Nvidia profile inspector, or OP really has two GPU's functioning at a time; :?

in nvidia profile inspector, go to number 6 and number of gpu's to use on SLI rendering mode set GPU_COUNT_ONE here to replicate the above OP
