There is a game here that can succeed. You are on the right track and can make it work. I understand you are balancing frequent updates with needing major changes to the game. You will have rough reception along the way but this game has still not been exposed to the majority of the market. Refine the game further and then you will find the audience and money you are hoping for. The game doesn't have to be a hit. Just a success. Your company can continue to pick up troubled games cheaply if you can prove you can rescue such projects and make them winners.
