The game looks awesome, sounds good, has a cool premise and the controls are precise and feel good. And the first missions are really fun but then the game becomes repetitive. There is barely any progress regarding your weapons and towers and while it is fun to bomb enemy tanks, that is most what you do from mission 2 onwards. The game adds new challenges by introducing new enemy types but the gameplay very much stays the same. Place towers so the enemy has to drive a longer way to your base and focus the tanks as your towers cannot handle them.
The next game of the developers, Riftbreaker, shows what the developers learned from X-Morph Defense, elevating the concept of this game to the next level. But X-Morph Defense itself was, at least for me, not there yet.
