i went into this game really wanting to enjoy it, and i was really disappointed. i've really enjoyed some of ebi-hime's other works but this one was just... off.

none of the characters are interesting enough for me to be invested in. rie was obnoxious with her cynicism and it felt like an odd choice to make her 9. i don't think anything major would have changed had she been a high schooler. it certainly would have made me less uncomfortable, which leads to my next point.

the dad freaked me out. he seemed especially creepy with the way he talked about his daughter and licia. every time he was on screen i was just waiting for him to leave. it's odd because, in the epilogue scene, when both girls are 18, the game was immediately more enjoyable. it felt like the whole game the writer was trying to hold back on innuendos for fear of being creepy, and it just didn't work well.

overall, the game was a drag. i really wanted to give the game a fair shot, so i completed it all the way through, but i really couldn't play more than 30 minutes at a time because i was just... bored. the premise was interesting and could have made for a fun story, but it was so mundane and just not fun to read at all. i basically had to drag myself through my playthrough for the sake of completionism.

although i love ebi-hime's other works, i can't recommend this one.
