There is no way to exit the game. Command-Q does nothing. Escape crashes the game, which is a sort of exit, I suppose, but no achievements are credited. I also have zero Steam trading cards from a half dozen play-throughs.

Hi, Esc is supposed to exit the game. If it is crashing that is strange.
Also this may sound strange, but are you unlocking the achievements? Do you wait when the music starts playing and watch the result? I just played it through and they unlocked fine... I can check with the developer though.

Also, Steam Cards only drop after you have played over 2 hours of a game, that's a general Steam setting

I've tried a few things that have helped with similar problems with other games — disabling the Steam overlay, and reinstalling — with no success. I've also tried to Alt-Tab out and Quit from the game's icon menu, but this also crashes.

Yes, I have unlocked at least 10 of the achievements, but when games crash instead of exiting then the achievement "credits" are not passed on to Steam.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll get in contact with the developer.

Hi

When you say crash, what exactly do you mean? Because pressing Escape simply exits the game, there's no menu inbetween or anything. Also, when do you exit? Progress is recorded at the end, there is a text appearing saying "There is more to see", and then it "restarts". That's when progress are saved.

Trading cards is a Steam function, there are no settings a game to control that.

Which specs are your computer?

Crashed as in:

Process: node-webkit [1572] Path: /Users/USER/Library/Application Support/Steam/*/starsky.app/Contents/MacOS/node-webkit Identifier: com.intel.nw Version: 1.0.0.0 (1.0.0.0) Code Type: X86 (Native) Parent Process: ??? [1] Responsible: node-webkit [1572] User ID: 501

Plus many more pages of debugging data. I *do* know how to tell a quit from a crash.

Yes, I let the game save and go to the restart screen, sometimes playing several more times before trying to Quit/Exit. As with a couple of other games that have had this crash-on-exit problem, the Steam UI never shows any achievements unlocked. I don't know how the two are related, only that they are.

Hardware specs:

Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,3 Processor Name: Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Memory: 16 GB Boot ROM Version: MBP112.0138.B16 SMC Version (system): 2.19f12 Serial Number (system): C02LMBXKFD57 Hardware UUID: D0771C8F-1CCF-5849-947A-E1A57AB4A301

Ignore the trading card thing. It was sort-of related, but irrelevant.

I suppose that a more helpful bit of the crash report would be:

Crashed Thread: 0 CrBrowserMain Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

I don't know how to tell that though, so thank you for the information.

Also, achievements are not supported by the Mac or Linux version (as is stated on the store page). Is your progress at the end screen not saved either?

Oh. I hadn't noticed that achievements aren't supported on Linux or Mac. If I had, I wouldn't have bought the game, as it is annoying to be rocorded as having 0% achievements. It negatively affects my globall Completion stat.

I'm not sure what progress should be saved. If you are asking whether the end screen shows that I have previously triggered, for example, Starfall or Rainmaker, no it does not. Only the current playthrough is shown on the end screen.

On a brighter note, Escape now exits cleanly without crashing, twice tonight. I assume that this is your work and not some cosmic fluke?

I'm sorry you feel that way. Perhaps you are still entitled to a refund?

If the progress is not saved that is a serious problem, I'm looking into it, but I'm having problems replicating the problem.

Nope, cosmic fluke I'm afraid.

Thank you so much for your patience!

I'm sure they wouldn't give a refund, but I wouldn't ask for one anyway. In spite of the problems I've had, I do like the game and I apprecite the effort that you've put into identifying and fixing the problem.
