First step download the latest driver for your discrete video card.
Once you have done that down load the DDU ( Display Driver Uninstaller ) From TechPowerup Google is your friend for this one.
Once you have downloaded DDU disable your internet connection, this is to stop windows trying to install drivers off the internet.
Press Windows Key + R and type in msconfig and press enter.
Click on the boot tab and then put a tick in the box that says safe boot.
Click on restart at the question that comes up.
Now you will have to think for yourself again - you need to enter BIOS and find the option in there to disable the in CPU GPU, do this and save the setting and reboot.
Once you are back at in Windows at the desktop you should see safe mode in all four corners of the screen.
Run the DDU program and in the drop box on the right select GPU, now is where you will have to think a little bit for yourselves..
An iGPU is a video card built into your CPU.
If you have an AMD CPU then uninstall the iGPU associated with your AMD CPU.
If you have an Intel CPU then uninstall the iGPU associated with your Intel CPU.
Select Clean up and do NOT restart.
Now uninstall the driver for your discrete GPU.
For an nVidia - obviously you would select nVidia and for AMD you would select AMD
Select Clean up and do NOT restart.
Once all of these are finished again select the Windows Key + R and type in msconfig
go to the boot tab and remove the tick from the box that says safe boot.
Reboot when asked.
After the boot has completed run the installer for your discrete graphics card as required.
Re Enable networking as since you disabled the iGPU in BIOS it should no longer create a problem.
Run steam and see if the game runs for you like it did for me.
If not I'm sorry but it's beyond the scope of this and you will need to try the other things mentioned.
Good Luck.
What if i don't have iGPU (running on i7 12700F)?
check antivirus log? might be blocking game/game launcher.
if using windows check windows security/controlled folder access
if on add exceptions for game launcher/game.
if running windows, check windows event viewer and also windows reliability history. might be a game crash event or system related problems.
if running windows, running Windows One Drive? One Drive moves the ini/preference files to the one drive. modify one drive to exclude the game folder.
run game from game folder .exe and NOT from steam library or an icon.
sometimes an error msg (missing library) appears not hidden by steam
laptop? make sure game is using dedicated graphics card
and not motherboard graphics.
try steam verify game files at least?
if using windows, try a "clean boot" in case an app/program/overlay/service is causing an issue
