Deadend deathtrap
Is there any way to protect people in a deadend room from suffocating when the connecting room gets hit? The only thing I can think of (apart from meteor strike prevention) is to connect to a room that has many connections so that there is a good chance of getting it repaired quickly.

I usually connect dorms directly to large O2 generators, but now I'm wondering if that's a good idea. Maybe it doesn't matter what you do.

There ought to be an external structure that offers emergency O2 for this purpose.

It's a matter of luck. If you have enough engineers or construction bots then there's a chance someone decides to fix it instead of carrying vegetables.

You should indeed connect Dorms directly to an O2 because otherwise a full Dorm will consume O2 and run out.
However there is pretty much nothing you can do to help those inside if the connector is hit. Just having enough capable of repairing.
Plus you can feel lucky you have a chance to save em. If it hit the Dorm they would all be dead anyway! :p

One can recycle the room, if its a dead end it has no dependencies so should also be available to be decomissioned. The inhabitants will then be dumped into space suits and outside your base... getting them back to an airlock is another matter.

I havnt needed it but that is actually a good idea to remember. Just be sure to do it while they still have plenty of air left :p

Recycle the room, the colonists will automatically be put in suits.

You will get the components even if you demolish a room with all the furniture still there.
