Why Is This Different?
I have a number of games in my library that are no longer for sale by indies and big studios, but the games remain in my library while the store page was pulled. I get that this is still for sale, but so are some of the games I have, they were just upgraded and I either kept the old version while the new went up, or I kept the old version and got a free copy of the updated version.

This could impact other devs and sellers more than users. 3rd party sellers are why I eventually broke down and joined Steam (I was a GoodOldGames diehard). Humble brought me into the fold, and sites like Fanatical keep me discovering hidden gems I would not have tried otherwise. This likely hurts confidence (I know it has for me), which will ultimately hurt retailers most of all.

Still, this is a confusing move, and the first time this has ever happened to a game in my library. I'm not even mad, I'm just genuinely baffled by what's happening. :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Because these keys were stolen and the devs were never paid for them.

Turns out it was a prank. I thought this smelled fishy.

Before anyone thinks that means i think it was a good idea, I don't. I didn't when GOG did this, I don't now.

And that's assuming the lol/jk response is the truth. Once bitten; twice shy. :lunar2019madpig:

they were lawfully bought. Fanatical is pissed at these guys for the allegations the dev made. The devs may in fact be sued and lose in court bigly.

the keys were revoked three years after they were legally bought from fanatical. devs with brains would have asked users to buy their other games or buy directly from steam to gift the game to friends to help out the dev if a publisher or other party had screwed them.

You must not have read--Fanatical did nothing wrong, they had keys that were sold via another seller, and just revoked every single key to the game because the people with access to the developer account no longer actually work for the developer.
