Fanatical help desk said that their keys got caught up in a clean up operation by the developers/publishers of the game that wanted to hunt down illegitimate keys. Still not okay that a game key gets revoked after 3 years.
What is making me angry is that i as a good customer have no say in the matter at all. I was not asked about the situation, i was not warned i just got a message saying a game key was revoked because of shady financial transaction. The word of message was accusing me of fraud. If you are a good person that can get to your nerves. And i can do nothing to defend my reputation. I am powerless to do anything in the steam enviroment, except making reporting the situation to a not interested automated support system.
I am not angry at the developers but i will not make business with them again. And my trust in steam and other digital vendors is shattered. If they just can & will take away stuff i paid for, why bother doing business with them at all.
Guys, please, stop doing this - don't panic! There was no direct accusation in said message. I deny to believe that some users received a different alert message from Steam.
means this was just an assumption that maybe you were using some shady dealer services. And they simply don't want to be involved in your and third-party seller financial relationships.
It's a general "yellow" Steam alert that you receive every time the code associated with your account through "Activate product on Steam" function being revoked.
Otherwise you would receive a "red" warning alert message like this one:

This kind of message people usually receive when they try to manipulate with payment methods on Steam.
At first, they called EVERYONE who obtained this game from Fanatical a thief. Then, they tried to recant that by editing and deleting posts.
Then, when people called them out, they banned said people from this forum.
I hope VALVE staples the OVERFALL situation to the WALL and makes an example out of them.
But try to consider it as a friendly notification:
"Hey, friend! There's a game missing in your library, maybe you received it from illegal source. Anyway, it's still available in official store."
Because, I don't think your account is flagged or affected in any way apparent from game license removal.
Is about the way devs handled this, blaming legit sites like fanatical, removing game from people, making excuses trying to justify their mistakes rather than appologizing since the start for the mess they created and the things they said. It was fail after fail after fail and mistake after mistake, with very poor handling of the situation and a bit of passive aggresive approach, with excuses, no appologies and lack of self critic capacity (whatever that is said in English).
It was for sure no bad intentions on their part, but clearly bad communication made things worse.
If I offered you 50 cents to deliberately re-experience all this frustration and anger next week, and re-type every post you've made on the subject, would you take the offer? Because letting yourself get worked up over what happened is exactly the same thing.
I'll even give you a 100% raise, and make it a dollar. How about now? Is the pay worth it? Or perhaps there's a better use of your time and state of mind.
he said it's a scam, so he thinks the devs are thieves, so for him is like chasing a thief. you dont know if he's angered or frustrated, he's just chasing a thief because he treats it like righteous exercise that's empowering him. he's like zealot and can't turn a blind eye even on slightest mistake.
