I don't understand why you have to fight him twice in a row.

The first battle where he has a massive amount of health I've been able to complete but then for no reason you have to fight him and his two assistants again where they proceed to rip apart my weakened team with an increased damage output despite now having HP more like other encounters.

It seems ridiculous.
