Typing not registering

Everything was going fine until I got to the circuit city nest near the beginning. Suddenly my words don't register? It's not lagging and my keyboard is working fine, but the words don't affect the enemies essentially. Any idea what's up?

Do the words have specific colors or are they white?

They're white, sometimes I can see the first letter go gray so once in a while a keystroke registers, but it's maybe 1/50 characters

The problem does persist when switching between powers (for the color-specific enemies)

Sure, it seems to happen maybe 10% of the time I open the game? I tried it a few times on and off this past week and it wasn't an issue the last time I opened it. I'll send the file this weekend when I have some free time, thank you.
