I made it through the mines and got the fire key and entered the door using it. I realized it was a boss fight and decided to go back to town to get potions and such and when I returned the door was relocked. I killed the enemy holding the key and it shows I picked it up but its not in my inventory and when I try to open up the door again it's still locked. Can anyone help?...

How do I get the key to open the locked door in the mine? I've read that enemies will drop it, but I've killed dozens and haven't gotten anything.
