It released at the same time as OW, which is why it killed it. even the battleborn wiki had OW ads n such. Incredibly poor timing to release during the same week as OW

The server may be dead, but we have someone working for over a year to make the game fully playable again.

Solo and vs bot are playable, and pvp/coop is, hopefully, on the right track to becoming playable again one day.
Only downside: you need to have the game on Steam to use the mod.

There are other discussions that talk about it and have the link to the Discord where everything is happening.

Are the inventories still linked? I remember those being stored on the servers back in the day, instead of being stored/linked locally/through steam.

Unfortunately, everything was on the servers. And when they were shut down everything was lost in the void.
A new way to interact with the inventory has been imagined, but it will only come with the next update of the mod, when the multiplayer is stable enough to be implemented (no date nor guarantee though).

OW didn't kill it, the devs being stupid enough to make a MOBA without a ranked mode is what killed it
