Can game be played with just a mouse?

Let give this game a brighter future, for Sid Meier please remake or make a sequel of this masterpiece, There is only a least amount of Pirate-themed game on the market, let alone a good one. 1. Never change from the ship you start the game with, the only exception is when you get stranded, then you keep THAT ship, whatever it may be. 2. Never use your cannons. Ever. 3. Play a merchant who only dabbles in piracy. 4. Only use your cannons, mandatory sword fights are the only exception. 5. I downloaded the game a while ago and it worked well, i then stopped playing it for like a year ( i never uninstalled the game in that time) and now every time i launch the game from steam i get a black box as if the game is launching that then just disappears and doesn't come back with no error message or anything.
