Controller Support
Nothing is working. xPadder, x360c, SCP, trying different controllers... nothing. Even got Steam set up for xbox controller support and it is registering my controller and it works for other games just not this one!

Using Windows 10, the settings section has controller in it but I can't edit any of the buttons. I have read so many tutorials on 'unplug the controller for a couple seconds, tab out, press x to get to the main menu' etc and nothing has worked. I am at my wit's end here, the keyboard controls are... honestly a joke, and the laptop keyboard I've got makes it basically impossible.

Can someone please give me a fix that will actually work that doesn't involve installing 12 new programs?

I use 'antimicro', this is free, easy and fast. you can bind buttons with your keyboard with it, This is a miracle solution, personally using it for FF8 with a ps1 controller (Every button are recognize in the game except the left/right/up/down, the software correct that). Even using it to play DBZ with the same controller ^^ i used xpadder, pinnacle, x360 ... The best was x360 but even him can mess up sometime ... Antimicro is the best

Go to big picture mode and enable generic controller support or 360 controller
In big picture mode there should be a controller configuration option when you enable your controller in the mode.

I already did that. :/

For some idiotic reason trying a 1st Gen PS4 controller with a micro usb charging cable from one of my old phones has made it work... just out of the blue. xbox 360, xbox one, and even licensed PC controllers did not work... but a random PS4 one does, with a cord that isn't even designed for it.

What the hell is the coding in this game?

Did you manually create a profile for the control?

Yep. Eventually just had to go with the AntiMicro application the first guy referenced. It works for me, even if movement feels a little silly since there's only cardinal directions.

I looked at the default keyboard layout, and then mapped that to the controller using Steam Controller Mapping, and I never had to use anything else.
Probably the worst port Ive seen. Square should be ashamed
It's simple, you need to plug controller only after the launcher is up
This worked for me. There are even profiles for the game on this controller application on steam.

Only downside you need to buy it to use it. I bought it for 1 dollar during a sale though.

I can confirm that this does absolutely nothing. That is all.

I did play this one with a mix of keyboard and game controller. I used a logitech F310 with this game when i did it. Sadly, i found the controller does not really work very good with this game.

Sorry to Necro this thread.
I just had issues with this on my steamdeck and I changed the controller settings to a community layout ( manifest wyverns ) which makes the controller work the same way it did originally on playstation. Steam deck controls work fine now ( although I might change some of the bindings :|. In case anybody still needs this..
