I am actually also using Ninostyle character models. If you install Reunion first, and then the SYM4 torrent(directions in the torrent), and then overwrite the files with Ninostyle character models last it works perfectly fine. On the Discord there is several other mods you can add as well like Vanilla Menu(HD menus), and better fonts.
http://ff7.live/index.html for The Reunion website, and then just click "Discord Channel" to join it.
https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy7/mods/4 - Ninostyle HD models. I downloaded the "Ninostyle Models for Direct folder" and manually put them in the CUSTOM/mod/Direct folder. The download comes with 2 versions, and I use the Chibi models as I feel they are closer to the original art style.
As an example from where I have the game installed : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY VII\The_Reunion\CUSTOM\mod\Direct
I just copy and pasted the version I wanted to that directory after installing the previous 2 mods.
After you install The Reunion, copy files from the torrent for SYM4, and add the HD models if you want. Find the The_Reunion folder after installing if you decide to use the HD models. Edit the "options.ini" in notepad, and find "Mod_ID = NONE" and change "NONE" to "mod(or whatever folder you want to put the HD models in)."
Can you tell me when i can download a previous version of Satsuki Yatoshi mod (5.28 or previous)
Thanks a lot!
You can get it from The Reunion discord server. It's posted in the "share-mods" category as a torrent.
So it might mess up your whole experience. Though the remake is beautiful and Cloud wasn't that bad but everyone else made me cringe in the Dialogues scenes. Exploding with way to much emotion like children. The message idea cooperated in the game was so retarded to. If that hadn't convinced you how childish the game is then the massages will. Cuz yeah nothing like a hand massage oh boy! like anyone would ever pay for a freaky hand massage. That is One of the most ridiculous things i have ever heard or seen. Cuz anything else would of apparently been to damaging for the kids to see.
Do what now? You can get a hand massage in ff7 remake lmao? Very weird for sure.

FF9 also has an incredible AI upscale mod and I believe there are several still in development for FF8 if you're looking to play the rest of the PS1 games
I just started a play through of the FFVII (Steam) with only the latest Satsuki mod installed and find is a great way to relive the old game (I am actually using the original low fi 3D models but use HD backgrounds, etc).
For anyone who wants to pick up these old games now without prior experience back in the time, ... be warned, you may not really enjoy them. The 1990s were a different time and if you have not lived them and played thee old games back then you may find them now "cheesy" or "childish".
If you are a die hard FF fan, by all means, go for it and play them (you MUST ignore the (by today's standards) limitations in controls and visual quality - if you cannot ignore this and get hung up on that, don't bother playing them.
I for one am able to look past such limitations and play these games as they were meant to be played back when they were first released and massively enjoy them still today.
My favourites of the "old games relived moments" surely are FFVII and Shenmue.
Looking at FFVII even from today's perspective it becomes very clear what an absolutely amazing game it has been back in '97.
TLDR:
- buy FFVII on Steam and do a clean install
- download the latest SYW mod only (a ton of great upgrades, such as HD backgrounds, CGI sequences, model replacements if you like, menu overhauls, ...)
- play it for an hour and decide if you like it or not
