Gameplay - Nov. 30th
First off, I know the game is in heavy development. This isn't a complaint discussion, but rather one designed to share my current experience with the game. I'd not be surprised at all if some of what I'm encountering is on my end of the equation and not on the server/dev side.

My current build is "BuildID 876602" of the beta opt-in.
If any devs want or need access to log files of any kind, please just let me know and I can make a dropbox link for you.

I've booted the game in windowed and in fullscreen mode, and I've tried using different resolutions as well. All of the issues I'm outlining here happen regardless of these aforementioned settings.

The first thing I notice is that the game takes quite a while to load into the world. Even after the splash screen (which currently has the Thanksgiving post by Robert) says "World Loaded", Im still seeing the spining yellow wheel and am unable to click the start button. In one instance I recieved a message stating that something was unable to connect to the host, but I didn't have the foresight to screen capture it before clicking "dismiss", so if I see it again, I'll get a picture. Of the 3 times I was able to get into the game proper, only once did I actually have settlers. The other times was literally just my camera looking down on the world with no people, but I could move my camera around, zoom in and out, and all that.

The first thing I noticed while looking at my 2 settlers "Ert" and "Illisa", was that when I mouse over them, their names and stats were inverted, as if looking at them in a mirror. Lift-click dragging to marque select them worked fine, but the yellow circles around their feet were offset somewhat to the left, and this progressively became worse and worse. At the end of my gameplay, I had to marque select roughly 30ft (in their scale) to their left in order to actually select either of the settlers.

If at any point the esc key is pressed, the game crashes immediately. This is consistent.

when I have a settler move, they walk in a jerky fashion, as if the game is laging while trying to determine their pathing route. I get the same effect when I right-clicked a tree to have them harvest it. Some trees dont allow me to harvest them, though they didn't look like "special" trees. The ones I could harvest had a green area apear at the base of the trunk, while the ones that wouldn't let me harvest from, just could not be interacted with at all on my end. My settlers would just stand next to the tree wherever I had clicked. Of the trees I could harvest, there were small piles of wood left on the ground that I could not pick up. These small piles did display two icons over them: one of a person in mid-stride, the other of a person seemingly carrying something on their back. Neither of these icons could be clicked or selected. I could not marque select the piles, and right clicking the pile just sent my selected settler over to it where they stood there and did nothing.

Even though I couldn't "gather" the resources from the ground, I was able to build 2 shelters and a campfire. Ert was having nothing to do with construction for some reason, but Illisa was having no issues when I selected her and right clicked the structure's blue holograph.

On the bottom left portion of the screen, there is a minimap and some checkboxes that, as far as Im aware, tell your selected settler(s) how to move around in the world and what to do. They seemed to be defaulted to sneak, covert, and I cant remember the third column. essentially its the top option for all 3 columns. When I tried to mouse over these in order to change them, they were not registering that I was clicking them. I figured out that I had to click off to the right a decent amount in order to interact with them. This is hard to explain, but its something similar to the yellow circles under my settlers not actually being under the settlers. Its as if the game thinks most things are further left than they actually are. Again, I tried the different resolutions and being in windowed or fullscreen and this "everthing is actually further left than they appear" problem was persistant.

To be fair, Im not very familiar with the controls, and I've misplaced where the manual was that explains basically how to play the game, so I may have been missing some fundamentals.

I'm still super excited for this game, and I'm looking forward to the updates that bring it more into a "game" state. I don't have any illusions of these being new problems, but I figure instead of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moaning about an early access game that literally got resurrected from the dead by a handful of extremely committed dudes, I'd do what I could to help.

Again, if you devs need any files posted to look at, just let me know.

This is showing the extreme example of the yellow circles not being under the settler models. The game considers them to actually be where the circles are, which makes selecting them a problem.

The first picture shows me trying marque select the settlers, and the second picture shows the result of that: nothing. This is how I figured out where the game is actually considering the models to be.

This is showing the reversed tool-tips. Its the same for the settlers as well.

This picture shows what I see when I generally first load into the game. No settlers or trees, but just terain. I actually found out that if I spam-click the "start" button on the loading screen, it will shunt me into the game before everything loads properly. After about a minute, the game drops me back to the loading splash screen, but I am still able to spam my way into seeing the game again. the second time I spammed my way in, I could see trees, and the third time I had settlers.

Unfortunately the game doesn't capture your cursor in the pictures, so a few of my images showing mouse pointer location vs interacting with UI are fairly useless.

Most of the issues you have labeled are known issues.
Player off center
Tree issues (harvesting and layed over)
Reverse name plates
I persoanlly reported all those to Jack.

As far as the lower left near the mini map those options are not in game yet. It is basically place holders if you want to call it that.

Pressing esc does crash the game. It is suppose to exit the game since all the menus are not in thats how it works. Esp if you are in full screen.

However i may suggest if you run into any problems to report them in the bug forum section.

Yeah, I realized that after I put this up. I'm sure if someone has the inclination, it'll get moved to the appropriate discussion if thats a possibility. Thanks for the info on the bugs!
Thanks for the report, a number of the issues are being looked into, and a rather meaty update (unfortunately not a major bug squish yet).
