No we are not quitting?
This is a copy and paste of what I was writting in a main posting by Robert regarding legacy edition, but ran out of characters:

We're not done here. I don't know why the comments are saying we're doing a money grab with ABD, though I do understand why it appears so, but we've explained a thousand times over the last few months what happened to the initial version of ABD and why we're currently rebuilding all the functionality, in ORDER not to swindle users into buying something that it wasn't. As I've written many times in the hub at large, we were the ones that got messed up, and yes, since we told the community since our Greenlight campaign that we had something ( which later we found out.. wasn't.) Please read the various threads and news posting about this if you're more curious about the matter.

The latest update got delayed as we have been pulling many tricks out of my and Jack's dev hats in order to fix up FPS, and fix many things that broke when we pushed a new build in Monday in our alpha branch in order to see how it all comes together. You guys wouldnt have been happy in the slightest in seeing a build that was broken, so our plans to push it to beta and live during the week feel apart and we started fixing what needed to be fixed (all Tier 1 buildings are now present, Weather system fix - effects are now correctly tied to the in game camera; Clouds on crack rotation issues, fixed, Some water fixes ( though I'm looking to move into a new water system, as we had to turn off a few settings here and there, and now getting an issue with water being overbright at nighttime.); Some FPS improvements ( and then some more, and we're now working on implementing two new methods into ABD in order to boost it even more; navmesh fixings, birds moving to a local system, terrain foliage that won't need to be harvested or interactable moving to a secondary terrain system; over the weekend I'll start testing moving into a different level of detail system that what Unity offers (started on it the last few days, but large scale test need to be done and analyzed so we know it won't affect FPS in a negative way). Finished adding about 200 river networks into the world itself and improving it in general ( though that won't be in this push, but it is coming at some point - lots of data editing to get done once I'm done with it visually.)

It's completely ludicrous that we're being accused that ABD is done with development, we still have some runway to keep us going .. if you think you guys think that the sales we've had so far since our failed launch covers us and lets us live a life of luxury, you're very sadly mistaken. Doesn't even cover a tenth of what Robert has put so far into this game, and yes, if postings appear telling the community, if you're interested and want to support us, please buy, that's because ANY sales help us, if it's only a drop into the bucket. But when those postings happen, it is not: Hey guys, I want to go clubbing in Las Vegas this weekend and drop money left and right and have fun ( Personally, I know of one game studio that had its executives doing that while refusing raises and haggling over prices for the staff, no names though.) and let's throw a sale so we can have the funds to do that. Jack and I work tirelessly to get everything going and yes, it's not fast enough for the community granted, but there's only two of us, with limited ressources and we want to push content out, however MOST of the time, that content is limited because we have to write major framework in order to bring new features, which end up breaking FPS, which we have to find new and novel ways to bring it back up ( although, starting next week, we are switching our entire focus into nailing this straight on, so next update after this one, you guys will most likely ONLY see a speed improvement, but it will be something that allows us to dive back into development full steam ahead and not have to worry anymore about how much we can show on screen, which was starting to be very limited earlier in the week ( alpha users would agree ;)) but has gone back up, and should go higher up by Monday when we are planning to push again to Alpha ( Jack has been sick all week with the flu, and while he's been putting our usual 14/16 hours workday, he needs the weekend off and sleep to come back fresh with his flu gone.)

With all that said, I have to say I'm confused why people think we are done. Would posting a quick little update that details what we've worked on every three days or so be more helpful? I've always refrained from doing that because it's work to compile and put together, time that should be spent actually developing, and I don't think those updates should be going into the offical front page threads, but more of a specialized forum where we can just post what we're working on, when we have a little downtime and take a screenshot or a quick gif make you guys reassured that we're actually working on this? (I know, trello would be good for that, but i dont have time to set one up again.)

Also, the legacy edition is not a cash grab by any means. Robert and I see this as a way to let true fans who would not mind paying extra to get something in return, without going through another kickstarter/indiegogo campaign, which does take time to set up and advertise, when we're always pressed for time to actually develop the game, or asking people to donate money ( because then.. that looks even MORE like a cash grab.) Doing a legacy/free dlc editions is just a switch on steam to allow people to upgrade and buy this, raising a little more funds, which ONLY makes Robert know that interest is there and lets him make a decision on how much more of his personal property he can liquidate in order to extend the runway more to get us to a point where ABD itself can actually cover the operating cost of the development team. We're not spending any development time on the Legacy edition, as you guys have seen the game isn't working and we wouldnt dare to try to start working on DLC stuff while the core isn't completed. That's all it is, and if you don't understand what I'm saying in this, please ask questions first before going on a flaming rampage :)

With that said, back to work for this frustrated/tired game developer.

This is what I am amazed by, we spend all this time away from developing to answer questions and comfort users and none of them respond. Hence, largely, why Legacy is not going to be handed out.

Did not say you did Pie. But if you go through the latest announcement thread, you'll see what I'm talking about. don't say you deserve Legacy. The legacy discussion has been tabled for now, when we actually take the time to implement it and figure out who will get legacy or not, we'll contact individual users. That's it, I'm frankly tired of the legacy talk. It's not productive at the moment until tempers cool down, and we'll talk about it then.
