I realize that most users, at this point, have "upgraded" to Win10/11, but for those who still use Windows 7, be aware that the update goes to a new revision of the Unreal Engine 4, which will not run under Windows 7 (or, rather, is designed to refuse to run under Windows 7).

As a result, this (as well as quite a few other games) which used to run fine on Win7 no longer will. I strongly recommend any Win7 users playing this game disable the "auto update" and avoid installing it manually as well.

I know that the devs need to keep up with the latest engines, but honestly, any "update" which breaks the game for users currently able to run it, ought to be ANNOUNCED as doing so.

I have several computers, two of which still run Win7 (a home theater PC... I don't want to have to start over with another media center, as everything on it is built around WIndows Media Center... and TON of hours would be required to "update" this to some other center... something I don't feel especially inclined to do just because "Microsoft sez so") and this one... my main gaming machine (there are still way too many software items which were able to run on Win7 which are no longer able to run on Win10/11... not to mention how annoying it is to be in the middle of a really immersive game experience and suddenly have Microsoft decide that it's time to force an "update" on me... and worse, one which breaks a lot of things on my system (as just happened to me yesterday on my Win11 MSI Pro machine).

So, no, I'm not inclined to "upgrade" either system at present... not until the issues get resolved (and it took a long time for the issues to get fully ironed out in Win7, so I expect at least another year... maybe two... before Win11 has enough fixes and work-arounds to get around its designed-in pitfalls!)

Which means that I will not be playing "CAT Interstellar" again anytime soon.

Honestly, that's not THAT much of a loss, but I really was curious where the developer was going with his story.
