Stuck in chapter two

I really like this game so far, but whenever I load my save file at the beginning of chapter 2, I get stuck in the chapter opening (the skip option is still there but it doesn't do anything). It's been doing this since I got to this part 2 days ago.

Jalauren, I saw you have 18 hours of gametime on the game; did you manage to fix the problem as I am really eager to get on with the game but there has still been no update..

This is happening to me! What is the fix? Why is this game still being sold on sSeam if it doesn't work?

Is this game f***ing abandonware now? This has been a known bug for 8 years now, I was really enjoying this game but it really sucks major ass to be completely stopped in my tracks by something the dev even claimed to be looking into, and is the first bug mentioned at the top of the discussion page.
