CPUCores does not detect any steam game!
The title says it. I have tried deleting config.vdf restarting both steam and cpucores and also adding libraries manually and once again restarting. No games detected, none. I have not configured steam installation in anyway other than having the games installed in two different drives. Yet Cpucores doesn't see the games installed even in the original steam library path. I thought and bought CpuCores because it promises an easy time for non-techies. I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Please help.

Oh and here's my specs (the copy to clipboard function of the DLC I bought for support also doesnt seem to work.. shame I had to write these myself)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU@ 2.50GHz
Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 3 GB

Are you using Steam beta? Use normal and see if that works.

Also can you post your specific Steam and PC setup, including all paths.
duruk 2017년 10월 27일 오전 11시 57분
I'm not using Steam beta.

I'm using
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\
and
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common
as the paths where game files are.

Any other info I can provide?

Just for testing, close CPUCores and try using Windows Explorer and delete %appdata% CPUCores folder.

Then restart CPUCores. Does that help?

Also, what language are you using on your desktop?

Lastly, for a test, try removing the extra Steam library and only having the default Steam library. Then delete the appdata CPUCores folder and start CPUCores up.

Basically, something in your 2 Steam library setup is causing issues here.

Lastly, check %temp%\cpucores.log and see if the log file has any information that looks related. Feel free to paste it in a quote as well.

Deleted the CPUCores folder under C:\Users\asus\AppData\Roaming. Restarted CPUCores, but it didn't work.

The language is English.

I'm sorry but I'm not willing to remove the extra Steam library, since it contains about 100 GB under 20 games. Any path of solution that wouldn't require me to remove all that would be appreciated.

I've read the cpucores.log but frankly speaking I don't really know what I need to look in it. Also, can you advise how can I paste it in a quote :steamsad: pasting the whole thing does not work due to character limit.

p.s. I appreciate your effort to help, hope it'll work out.

Hey there,

I'm not asking you to delete Steam games. Just remove the library from Steam's listing. You can easily add it back in and the games will still be there.

What we are trying to do here is figure out why you aren't able to detect any Steam games.

The goal is to try and get your setup completely standard and then go from there. Standard as in things like the default Windows admin account, no run-as admin stuff, default install of Steam, default install of CPUCores, all of that.

Also can you paste your cpucores.log as well from %temp%? Try deleting the cpucores.log first, then starting CPUCores via Steam, then close it, then copy/paste it, it should work as it would have just 1 entry.

Hey, thanks for looking back at this. First of all, when I try to remove the extra library from Steam's settings, it says "Only empty Steam library folders can be removed". Also changing the name of the extra library folder, and creating another one at the same location with the default name 'SteamLibrary' does not fool Steam. It still sees as there are 18 games installed at D:\SteamLibrary (although it is an empty folder just recreated) and thus does not remove the extra library (without uninstalling every game first I guess). Can you help in any other way to remove this extra library?

There is only one account in this computer so there shouldn't be any problem in terms of admin account.

I had been using the custom library in D as the default download folder of Steam. Changed the default folder to the original Steam library in C. Also uninstalled CPUCores and installed it back at the (now default) original Steam library in C.

I once again deleted config.vdf, closed CPUCores, closed steam, deleted cpucores.log and restarted CPUCores. Here's the contents:

So, does the contents of the log give you any idea on how to fix this?
🆂tartup🆃im 2017년 11월 7일 오후 4시 20분
Hey there,

I read it and it doesn't jump out to me as anything incorrect. That being said, I don't have too much logic in the logging for a situation as complex and rare as this.

Your thing about Steam not allowing the removal of that Steam library, I think you could actually close Steam then edit the config.vdf and search for "folder" as well as Steam\steamapps\libraryfolders.vdf as well.

Lastly, are you using Steam Beta? Double-check and, if so, go back to Steam normal. Then close Steam and delete config.vdf and restart Steam, see if that helps.

Something is throwing off how CPUCores is finding your Steam library, something about file path names, or how file paths are done, etc. So we want to try and make everything as normal as can be to start.

Lastly, after doing any change, delete the %appdata%\CPUCores folder before starting CPUCores as that forces CPUCores to rebuild it's entire config.

I managed to remove the extra library thanks to your help, deleted the conig.vdf manually and also deleted CPUCores folder; sadly nothing changed.

I am sorry but I had to ask for a refund for this, it has been nearly 2 weeks since I've made the purchase and I wouldn't be able to get the refund if I waited any longer. Thank you for your effort to solve the issue. I will keep an eye on the forums to see if anyone else will have any similar issue and if it can be solved I'll consider buying again. Have a good day.

I don't know if duruk still needs the help, but I am having the same problem and could use a direct method to fix it, if you have one.

I might be late to the party, but CPUCores doesn't seem to be automatically recognizing \steamlibrary\ directory created/assigned by steam upon installing steam games on a different drive outside the default drive windows is installed on.

Any solutions yet?
