ALso, I am a champion with a good rep. Wasn't holding a weapon. Tried stripping to vault suit. I have fallout fixt.

Fallout Fixt is a mod right? It could be a bug with that so try it without it and see what happens.

Well it's not like I NEEDED the hardened armor so I just beat it. I mean it wasn't my 1st, or fifth playthru. :)

I have never had this problem, nor in the vanilla game.

I found other people who have had this issue by searching on line. Same thing, started a new game and ran straight to the hub (in order to drop the journals on the ground and swap files in the saves...old trick) Upon arrival in a fresh game Mrs Stapleton is just standing there, won't initiate dialogue at all. Next time I play (may be awhile) I will see if it happens again. HPA just increases rad resist right? I'm usually done with the glow by then so not like I really needed it anyways, carrying radaway etc..

Does it? By the time I get to the point of that quest barely anything hurts me anymore. yeah same here, if someone has the solution because not being able to complete the quest nor buying books is pretty annoying (old topic i know)

I've encountered this same problem and still can't seem to find a resolution. No matter what I do, I haven't been able to initiate a discussion with Mrs Stapleton.

And my search leads me here. She’s broken. I started a new character and ran to the Hub as a test, didn’t talk to anyone - and she simply doesn’t interact, at all. Like she’s frozen.

And I’ve never used a Fallout 1 mod.
