signals are great. what's not great is having to press P to get to the control Panel and use the mouse to toggle some ship option. During combat or other perilous situations, it would be preferable to have options closer at hand. Look! A mostly-unused ship toolbar... usually has a Detector, maybe a Drill or Cannon of some sort. Wouldn't it be great if we could somehow bind our signals to keyboard keys or... so we could just e.g. hit '5' to lower landing gears, or '2' to toggle braking thrusters. Hangar bay doors, power saving mode, all at our fingertips, pretty please!
