Also I'm thinking that maybe, and just maybe, sometimes the game is a bit lenient, making things easier for players.
In an actual real game, sometimes someone can make a mistake like the one shown in the pic, but an AI wouldn't do that unless is scripted that if a specific character does riichi he/she will aim always for a Tsumo win...
