Any chance for a Pike and Shot 2?
I absolutely love this perios, as well as the Napoleonic one. Any chance of a Pike and Shot 2, with updated graphics, or of a Napoleonic equivalent?

Maybe after FoG2: Medieval.

I reckon that the devs will cover the High Medieval age first, before they get to the era of P&S.

+1 for a Pike and Shot 2 :-)

hussar and lancer
I would love an updated P&S, but the wait will probably be long.

Hope they do one in the near future.. and hope they allow to fight the battles choosing the side, 5 minutes ago I reinstalled the game after finding it in my library, and when looking the available scenarios I realized that there isn't a single one in which you can command the spaniards.. which is awful. Imagine a game about the classic age wars were all the battles are against the romans ??

This feature is already available when playing the Epic battles in the more recent FoGII series made by the same developers. So there is a good chance that the same feature appears if there's a P&S2.

irrc you can play the battle of Ravenna (1512) on the Spanish side (see the Italian Wars module) + some others downloading in game Community Scenarios : Rocroi (1643), the Dunes (1658)...

I'll take a look to the community scenarios, thanks !

I fail to see the problem with this

Yes, this would be ideal, especially if they put unit animations as they did with Field of Glory 2. However, it would be nice to keep the scale of this game in terms of units deployed and big maps as well.

For a hypothetical sequel I think I'd enjoy a 1:10 scale for figures to men. So your standard 480 Pike and Shot unit would have 48 figures to start with, 16 pikemen and 32 musketeers. It would be a middle ground, both showing some details, but also getting some of that period illustration feel of a forest of pikes.

The bigger and the more detailed the miniatures would be, the better imho.
So I think I'd advocate, for a 480 P&S unit, 24 figures (2x 8 musketeers + 8 pikemen, on two rows) and would even try 12 figures.

(A zoom would also do the trick.)

+ an officer and a drummer :-)
Am I the only one that really likes the art style and doesn't want it changed too much? Most war games these days use 3D or at least realistic 2d models, I would love to see a hypothetical P&S 2 stay unique and use a higher-rez version of the same art style. It would really make it stand out from the crowd imo. I love FoG2 and Medieval too, but one of the main reasons I like P&S (and Sengoku) is the art style. Makes it look like a painting, and I find that very appealing. Add all the QoL improvements over the past few games (and overhead firing for archers) and I think we'd have ourselves a winner. Sorry, I just feel pretty strongly about it. :steamhappy:

No you are not. I'm sure most of those who keep on playing P&S1 like its art style. I too really like it and would be very pleased to see it again, enhanced if possible, in a P&S2.

But if it came to what I would prefer, I'd vote to see as many details of the costumes/uniformes, weapons, horses... as possible. Renaissance Tabletop figurines are so great !!!

The artist of this hypothetical P&S 2 could also make it look like a painting of the 17th century, such as those of Van der Meulen : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Adam_Frans_van_der_Meulen_-_The_crossing_of_the_Rhine_at_Lobith,_12_June_1672.jpg

Sadly there is no another game like this in the market. I know about Thirty Years War by Ageod released by Slitherine, but is a different concept. There is also a mod for Medieval II Total War based on Thirty Years War, 1648, but lack of formations.

I am pessimistic that Total War saga will bring a pike and shot title any time soon. For such reason Byzantine Games is my only hope to see another title based on pike and shot era.

This military period is my favourite because of the variety on uniforms, weapons and tactics. 17th century is also interesting because of the evolution of technology, tactics and a wide range of factions involved in wars, not only in land battles but also in naval battles.
