What are you using? Steam's new thing or OBS?

Steam's easy, it was literally recording my game and I didn't know for a while.

Or do you mean something else?

Also depends on what the error is....

"Deleting stuff off my computer" is only going to help if you don't have the storage space (recording 2k video takes up a lot of space)

If the problem is not storage related, deleting stuff is not going to help....

So what exactly is going wrong?

Idk tbh I don't even get any error message I try to click on the record button and it doesn't work

I use the Xbox or Microsoft version idk how to use the steam version

Ah... I don't use the Xbox. I'll ask my friend when I get the chance, but maybe someone else can help here as I don't think I'll have an answer if it pertains to the Xbox.

if you're doing this on the Xbox, I would refer to the Xbox operation manual for that software to find out what is happening... same with Microsoft.

The only program I have ever used to record is OBS, and well.... "it just works"

As do for the Steam version, from what I have seen it seems pretty simple: Turn it on, play the game, and STEAM records what is happening... as to how well it works... well I use OBS so I have not tried.

Basically what I'm trying to get at is I'm not playing on Xbox

Never said you were, but you are using their software... so that is the place to go for your answers.

I figured it out it was settings but now unfortunetly my game keeps crashing idk why tbh

Could be that your system doesn't the resources to run both.

I have no idea how the Xbox stuff works or how system intensive it is.

Does your game run without trying to record?

It ain't Xbox it's a HP Pavillion laptop and I figured out the problem but now I got to figure out why my game keeps crashing every 15 mins

that is an entirely separate issue.

Have you modded the game?
Is it crashing when you do certain action?
Is it happening in a certain location?

If you can narrow it down to say a location, action, or event, it'll solve the issue.
