This game is my second home. I love it from the bottom of my heart. I living in Ukraine, and this game is the only place I feel safe and happy in, now when living in war. This game saved me so many times, gave me strength and hopes. I literally stay online there,while was hiding from missles attacks, my lala was standing afk in Limsa and my thoughts was: while I standing there,part of me is safe.

Seeing people giving bad reviews not because of game is bad but because SE banned some mod - heart breaking, Because this game about better community. Even if this mod important for you, Its just not fair.

There are many reasons why I love this game, this world, these adventures, stories, characters, people and amazing friends i met there - this game changed my life and myself to the better, I learnt english and became more brave, more wise and more kind, I started to love myself more, thanks to my adventures in this game. I could say much more, but today i writing this just to remember to others that this game is much more then one mod. And what you doing is not fair for others,who is happy there.
for sure there are sooo many flaws i would address if I would write review in a different day. But today they doesnt matter to me.
I just at home in Final Fantasy and don't want to lose it.

Story for the most part is worth it. I say for the most part because of an expansion here and there being a bore. Though aside from those, it's more then memorable and the game will always hold a place in my heart. I even met my wife on here 10 years ago.

A large downside for me at this point is the lack of innovation or notable content. It all feels the same now and I've felt this way since StB and SB. Some may say that's how an mmo goes. I disagree. I put money towards it monthly and buy into expansions. I think it's reasonable to expect change and something more to grow from it. At this point I've been logging on for only the social aspect and to check out story.

Classes feel cookie cutter. Especially after playing other MMOs, they don't feel like they bring anything unique to a party other then being an outline of what a tank, dps, and healer should be. I've played and mastered rotations on every tanks and almost every DPS aside from Dragoon. It's the same, aside from flashing different colors. Caster, ranged, and melee are the only notable difference in play style.

If you're new to the game however, I won't say it's not worth a shot. It's still new and shiny to you, enjoy it. Though, don't expect much to change after you've played for awhile.

I wanted to make this a negative review but I couldn't bring myself too.

Ps: Don't buy into the whole community is better here thing. Every community has it's bad side and here is no exception, especially if you disagree on something, the hate will show.

For a long time I was fine how the game lagged behind WoW and GW2 and others when it came to customization of your outfit.

The nonsense limitation of what outfits you have collected compared to GW2 or WoW.

The nonsense limitation to dyes, compared to GW2.

The lack of enough slots for dungeon and event gear. You're limited to 20 presets, while all combat gear is job-locked and level locked, Glamour/Outfit wise.

With the addition of Dawntrail, many events and PvP casual style gear, the 800 slot limit for your Glamour collecting was never enough.

They finally enabled some headgear for Viera and Hrothgars, which made the limited space even more limited.

They've added outfit sets, which shaved down some space. But they didn't allow outfits for dungeon gear. Why? If ALL set gear could be made into outfits to save space, it'd make sense to keep the limit as low as 800.

But the devs didn't increase the Glamourer space or Glamourer Plates (presets) in ages.

And I was fine with it because there were alternatives to this limited, compared to other MMOs, even ones that are free or without a subscribtion.

But now Square Enix decided to take down those alternatives that allow added self expression without improving the system themselves.

Ultimately, these alternative means are against ToS. And I'm fine when Square Enix takes them down... IF... and I say IF... Square can deliver on their side as well.

For other example than what happened today, look at Chat Bubbles. The original third party chat bubbles were shut down, while chat bubbles were added to the game.

At what cost though? The original 3rd party Chat Bubbles allowed you to see the entire message of someone. The chat bubbles setting from Square Enix limits them to number of people around you AND ONLY TWO LINES AT MOST.

I will happily change this review to positive if Square Enix can deliver on their end, compared to free, single-person hobby devs. Square Enix has IIRC around 100-300 people working on FFXIV at all times, excluding external help.

It's already alarming they won't dedicate more people to help strengten the game's servers against DDoS attacks. It's even more alarming when they take active part in enshittification of the game and community.....

1.0の時代から「ファイナルファンタジーXIV」をプレイし続けている、長年のファンの一人です。 海外プレイヤーのレクシエル (Lexiel) と申します。長年のファンとして、ゲームの将来を深く憂慮し、改善を強く要望したく、ご連絡いたしました。

長年にわたり、FFXIVの武具投影（ミラージュ）システムが、WoWやGW2といった他のMMOに比べてカスタマイズ性に劣る点を我慢してきました。具体的には、以下の点です。

アイテム収集の不便さ: GW2やWoWの「コレクション」機能とは異なり、一度入手した装備を自由に投影できず、貴重な「ミラージュドレッサー」の容量（800枠）を常に圧迫しています。

染色システムの制限: GW2と比較して、染色に関する自由度が低いと感じます。

ミラージュプレートの不足: プリセット数が20枠というのは、ジョブごと・レベルごとに装備が固定されるこのゲームにおいて、あまりにも少なすぎます。

「暁月のフィナーレ」以降、多くのイベント装備やPvP装備が追加され、ヴィエラやロスガルの頭装備が解放されたことで、ただでさえ不足していたドレッサーの800枠は、もはや限界に達しています。

武具投影セット機能の追加は評価しますが、なぜダンジョン装備などが対象外なのでしょうか？ もし全てのセット装備をこの機能に登録できれば、容量不足は大幅に改善されたはずです。しかし、ドレッサーの容量もプレート数も、長年据え置かれたままです。

これまでは、サードパーティーツールという代替手段が存在したため、公式のシステムが他のMMOより劣っていても受け入れることができました。それらのツールは、プレイヤーが自己表現を追求するための助けとなっていました。

しかし、最近スクウェア・エニックスは、公式のシステムを改善することなく、これらの代替手段の取り締まりを強化しています。利用規約違反であることは理解しています。しかし、その取り締まりを正当化できるのは、もし、そしてこれは非常に重要なことですが、もしスクウェア・エニックスが開発側としてプレイヤーの期待に十分応えてくれるのであれば、の話です。

例えば、過去にあったチャット吹き出し機能の一件を思い出してください。サードパーティー製の優れたツールが利用できなくなった後、公式で機能が実装されました。しかし、その結果はどうだったでしょうか？ サードパーティー製ツールでは表示できていたメッセージの全文が、公式の機能では周囲の人数や表示行数（最大2行）によって制限され、途中で途切れてしまいます。これでは全く実用的ではありません。

もしスクウェア・エニックスが、個人の趣味で開発している方々が作成したツールと同等、あるいはそれ以上の機能を提供してくれるのであれば、私は喜んでこのフィードバックを肯定的なものに変えます。貴社には、FFXIVのために常時100～300人規模の開発チームがいると認識しています。

DDoS攻撃に対するサーバーの脆弱性を改善するため、より多くの人員を割かないことにも既に懸念を抱いていますが、開発チーム自らが、プレイヤーのゲーム体験の質を意図的に低下させるような動き（いわゆる「Enshittification」）に積極的に関与しているように見えることは、それ以上に憂慮すべき事態です。

一人の熱心なファンとして、ゲームが良い方向に進むことを心から願っています。
