Letter Quest Remastered free for Letter Quest owners!

Making a sticky post to let everyone know that if you own Letter Quest on Steam, you should now have Letter Quest Remastered in your library. It doesn't matter where you got the Steam key from (Steam, another store, a bundle, etc.).

I've been trying to get the information out there about this, because there's no way in Steam for me to notify all owners of the original Letter Quest to let them know. Please help spread the word!

As a small favor, it would be awesome if people would consider leaving a review for the game, which helps it get some attention/exposure. Thanks!

Note regarding the IndieGala "Grim Trekker Bundle": this bundle did not include Letter Quest Remastered. The bundle was updated with that information shortly after it was first posted. All Letter Quest keys from other stores should still provide a copy of Letter Quest Remastered when redeemed on Steam, as those keys were issued from Valve before remastered was released. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Going forward, the original Letter Quest will not be in any bundles or stores, to avoid confusion.

Thank you! It was not automatically added to the library but it was just click on Play (on store page) and it was added to Steam Library. I played a bit and I don't know exactly where but it sounds an improvement to the original game. It looks and sounds better, new options, etc :D Thank you very much for this gem (and please sorry my bad English).

Thank you! I was quite surprised to have noticed this in my library when I logged on (if you don't see it yet relogging solves that).

I love the game, it's such a neat little time-waster, though I'm not so sure how I feel about the expert mode and how much it might hurt =P

expert mode was/is in the original as well and it's difficult, you really need those long words that can only be found in my passive vocabulary. endless mode, introduced in the remaster, is fun though but also not easy.

As someone who completed the original, I look forward to playing the new endless mode. Just one thing... even though the Remastered version is in my Steam library, and the game's store page says I own it, the Steam store front page doesn't seem to know I own it, and keeps trying to recommend I buy it again! I love the game, but not quite that much. :)

Thank you so much for the free Remastered! I was also surprised to see it and downloaded it to my Asus Transformer. I play this every day at work during lunch and break. Loveit, love, it, love it!!

I wrote a review of the game at Christ Centered Gamer when the original came out. Two of my biggest complaints were the static nature of the enemies, and the poor way the soundtrack looped. It's delightful to see that both those issued were addressed in this remastered edition! With the addition of the "Endless" mode, I'm inclined to say that this is probably one of the best word-based video games I've ever played. I may have to update my review.

Saw this appear in my game library. I wanted to say Thank you. This is the kind of developer pride and awesomeness that makes me support Indie developers. Remastered the game and made it better, gave it to current owners.

is there much of a difference between this and the original one? If I'm playing the original, will my power-ups transfer to the new one (like it does when I played the demo and then started the real game)?

you can read about the differences on the store page. there aren't that many but the new soundtrack blew me away and endless mode is more fun than I'd expected. the animated enemies look good too. I'm also doing story mode all over again and I don't really play games more than once, so that says something.

as for your save, unfortunately it won't transfer to the remastered version, you have to start over.

I have a key for the original version that I haven't yet redeemed - was on the fence about it. If I redeem it now, after the remastered version has been released, will I also get the remastered version?

Yes, this should still get the remastered version, I've tried to set everything up so that anyone that has Letter Quest will get the remastered version. I haven't tested this myself since the game has been released, but as far as I know it should work, that's how it's set up behind the scenes. :)

not sure how bundle keys work but I assume they should unlock both versions, as buying either will get you both still. have you tried restarting steam?
