Bad performance on good PC
Once again I decided to try a Ubisoft game. From what I've seen syndicate should have run perfectly fine on most PC, except.....it doesnt for me. People with GTX 970s were apparently able to always get 60fps+ on the high preset ...
I have an I5-4690k and a GTX 980
But where's the problem? As soon as I got into London, FPS were at 45-50 in the main street and it didnt matter what settings I chose. everything from ultra to low gave me about the same. Why...

Use FXAA instead of MSAA or TXAA. If that's not enough, use "High" shadows instead of PCSS shadows.

Like I said, I tried every preset and tried exactly that . Still 52FPS on the main street

Resolution has a big impact on the GPU, if you are trying to run it at 4k you would have bad time. That said I just beaten Unity, played Origins and I have to say that Syndicate is better optimized than both of these games (Origins optimisation is just horrible).

Yea i've seen that .... benchmark vids, Origins might be a good game but damn it runs bad. Ive played Unity like 1y ago, it was also running really bad. I saw videos and people talking about this game and how good the optimization is, it might be just my fault or my good old I5 but it simpy wont go above 60fps, mostly 45-50
Replaying this on a modern PC and FPS is obviously not an issue now. What remains ♥♥♥♥ is the LOD pop in of textures and objects at stupidly close distance. I hated that back when it released, I hate it now. Early AC games were plagued by the fact the engine visual detail configuration was left tuned for less capable consoles of the time, hence the shockingly bad LOD pop and anti-aliasing on more capable PC platform. AA was really odd because TXAA + FAA was available in graphics menu but enabling it didn't seem to make any difference. Played it for a bit then uninstalled because I couldn't stand the visual jankiness of it all.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
