I agree with Lametta "The infectious madness of doctor dekker" is the most similar just longer and more characters. Brillient game.

"Tender loving care". Mature themed and a bit less detective tho. Otherwise try the Tex Murphy games.

That game looks really cool...has anyone tried "Confession" (I think)...I think its more humor but similar style...

The parser in Dekker was horrible when I played it, I don't know if they've improved it by now. Otherwise it seems good.

The Cat Lady. A lot darker and more disturbing content wise, but the protagonist is a similarly deep woman with a lot of issues that slowly come to light as the story progresses.

Only similiarity that Tex Murphy is sharing with Her Story is FMV, otherwise it's very different game. Tex Murphy is point and click in 3D world with FMV, but it's great, I recommend to start with the first game, which does not have any FMV tho'-
