18+ patch is not planned at this time.
May I ask how long it took you to get to the ending of Mori route? We're trying to get a good estimate of play time.
Besides the varying times it takes for people to read, I think another reason why the time may vary even more person to person is based on how many weeks they get through during the first act of the game before they get on one particular character route. I was kinda spreading myself out evenly over the characters before eventually ignoring 1 or 2 that I wasnt really that interested in learning more about since I didnt know how the game system worked and how that after a certain amount of character visits you hop on a "route" so to speak if you know what I mean. If some players were to focus entirely on one chracter every in game week the playtime could be reduced as well im sure as they will get on that character route even faster. I think the week counter in the top corner may also push this as new players may not know how many in game weeks happen before the ending so they will focus each week on the one character they want without exploring the others.
Really I only have a couple "complaints" if you could call them that. The first being how all the other character relationships kinda get kicked to the curb as soon as your on that chracter route, at least thats how I felt in Mori's which was a little bit of a bummer since so many of them were interesting in their own right. Not meaning they werent present in the later act of the game you just couldnt interact with them as a "friend" as much. And second how on her specific route at least I kinda forgot how I was suppose to be a ruler in a new land, and instead felt more like that "knight in shining armour" chracter that was even mentioned in the story itself as well. If I would change anything I would just try to integrate the character's route more into all the characters and overarching story how you are suppose to be this overlord from the first act. I understand completely though how time and resources can limit a project so im mostly just nitpicking :)
I had a great time with this game and am pumped to go through Summer's route next! Usually in the VN's ive played either the story or the characters are a little lacking and so far in this game I don't feel like either one has been sacrificed. The charaters especially, I love each one of them and every interaction all had me smiling, laughing or sad. Much of that has to do with the varying character images giving them all emotion with that the player is reading, which was a great choice to include so many in my opinion! To me its a sign of a good game when you want to visit the world with the characters once its all over. Which is why ill probrably be hoping this game does well enough to maybe warrent a little expansion in the future to spend more time with all of these characters :) Ill definetly be writing a review for the game after I finish a few more routes.
If I can ask, how many endings are given to each character? I didn't find it difficult at all to get the good ending, I just had to respond to the choices in a kind and caring way, im sure if I was more stand-offish and acted like everything was okay in her route things would have ended differently!
Each character (except Rhoslyn) has 2 good endings and a lot of bad endings.
I recommend that you save during the choice of 'stay' or 'leave' and come back to try again ;)
If I can also ask, do you yourself have a favorite character and route? I do think from what ive played Mori and Summer were my favorite characters as well as Rhoslyn close behind. The princess was my least favorite personally! :)
I think I was most disappointed by Mori's route. I had much going on in my head, but I don't think I was able to execute everything that I wanted.
I'm glad you like Rhoslyn! Rhoslyn's character changes most throughout the game, to be more likeable. But I was worried people wouldn't like Rhoslyn after initial interaction with them and wouldn't even give them a chance :[
(Btw, this is so exciting. Thank you for talking to me about RBD! :D This is like a dream come true, to have a player actually enjoy and have favorite character in mind)
I just finished Summer's route and got both of her good endings. I was kinda speed reading since I want to get my review up for your game soon to support it and give my thoughts so ill definetly be going back and re-playing it again after but I loved it! :) Her and Mori are definetly my favorites.
I can see why some may be turned off of Rhoslyn based on those early interactions like you said but they are definetly an interesting character! I feel like for me if I was a developer in your shoes I would find it so difficult to execute all the ideas that are in your head about characters. Im sure it can be hard to translate the ideas into the game and then you have time and resource contraints which can make it that much harder! But I do love Mori her route was so heartfelt to me. I cant even describe all the emotions that character brought out in me through the game it really was so much fun reading every one of her parts :)
I hope to have my full little review up tonight or tomorrow and I do hope your game gets the recognition it deserves becauses its clear a lot of time and heart went into the project and it all comes through in the game :) I only wish I was able to support it earlier through kickstarter!
BTW, is there a secret June route we have to find? ;)
As a tabletop RPG Game Master, I can empathize... Wanted to say though that I thoroughly enjoyed her route, I thought it was awesome! I'd played the game with a different perspective of her, took her route and found all kinds of surprises that were intriguing and heart-warming, I think y'all did well!
I did have a question though.... No spoilers, but I can't seem to figure out if June has a route, maybe need to dig around in places I'm not visiting enough though... She does have a route, right? That's all I thought I'd ask lol
Anyway, wanted to chime in on this discussion and say keep up the good work! I like this VN, it's fun, deep enough to get involved (I do actually very much like the Elincia route, no spoilers), but I'm tied between her and Mori as favorites so far... Elincia for story, Mori for personality and the way her route plays.
Thanks for your hard work.
