Bug in Quest "Race to Providence"

Got the race quest for the first time, went to start location, paid the 25 Credit fee.
After leaving the starport the quest read "next checkpoint: <some planet>".
I opened the ship view via TAB, and switched to galaxy map (to verify that <some planet> was actually in the system I was in). After closing the Galaxy map the Quest said "we have abandoned the race - return to starting point" (or so)

To clarify: I had not moved far from the starting starbase yet, nor have I jumped - I merely opened the galaxy map. I can only guess that opening & closing the galaxy map broke the quest.

hey Charonx, thank you for reporting. I noted it down for internal review but it seems pretty evident where that's broken.

For whatever reason i only now get this notification.
From the timeframe of the report and answer i would assume that this has been fixed. i did not find any other (recent) report of this issue.
While it is not explicitly mentioned, there were a couple of patches after this date which list "lots of minor quest bugfixes".

I´ll give it a try, later. I was never able to finish this quest. It never really started in the past

I tried this quest many times, now. And i startet the game from the beginning, more than one time. Allways the same, the quest never really startet. Now i can tell: the quest is still buggy.

But it seems, the support has already stopped to do any bug fixes
