jump then refuel

check whether there are any gas resources on the planets, or any space station in this star system. if not, use the distress beacon and wait for the rescue of aliens -- you don't need to spend any credit, but the beacon will be consumed. If you have no beacon, may your crews RIP.

Let your crew die and use the game's built-in 'rewind' option on the kill screen to respawn to the point when you entered the system. No harm done!
