Error when attempting to install game
I am getting a steam error stating "invalid platfrom" when attempting to install this game, I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, anyone know how to work around this error?

This is extraordinarily weird, as that is steams error message for when you try to install a 64 bit game on a 32 bit machine or something comparable endeavour. I don't think anyone else has posted about auch an error with this game yet.

What's your hardware? Do any other games have install problems? Have you restarted steam/your pc? Do you have enough disk space left?

My hardware can certainly run the game. I've tried installing other games today, no issues. I still have over 2TB's of hard drive space. However I haven't restarted Steam or my PC for almost a month now, I will try that and update if it works or not...

Thanks for commenting! :)

On possible option would be to try and force steam to recognize an existing install. Downloading the game on a second machine, then copy that folder into the steam folder on the existing machine and then install/refresh steams file thingy. Or find someone you trust and have them send the install folder, but I'd be veeeery careful with that on the internet.

The internet is full with forum posts about the 32/64 bit thing, so i was not able to find any posts where that was not the case, nor have I found anyone posting it with TLJH

I tried a few things; restarting Steam, my pc, clearing download cache, changing download region, even updating Windows... no luck... I sent a ticket to Steam Support to see if they can help, I will update again when I hear from them.

Thanks for trying to help @Wrzlprnft :)

There is also the official Daedalic support form, but as far as I gathered they are slower than usual(which, uh, isn't exactly fast for older games) because there are some changes being made at the moment. https://www.daedalicsupport.com
And they might point you to the steam support anyway.

No problem! I am just sorry that I can't really help resolving this.

Just wanted to let you know that I managed to resolve the issue, HUZZAH! :)
Steam Support pointed me to a lengthy help article and after trying everything there I was able to get the game installed, then it failed to start, so I uninstalled it and re-installed and now it works... very bizarre... but at least I can FINALLY play this thing lol...

Huh. That really sounds like you hit the jackpot of system specific quirks there. Glad you were able to resolve it. May I ask that you please link the article here, just in case someone else has the same issue?
