The link was removed, so i do not know what exactly you are referring to. though, usually those menus, wether they are debug menus by the devs or external menus, are closed with the same hotkeys they were opened with.

Ah, that. Yeah, you should be able to close it with the same key combination listed that opens it.

I went ahead and removed your previous comment, since it just basically was a copy of the article, which is way too much of a wall of text for a this thread. a simple reference is enough and doesn't get outdated on top.

very late followup since i just got the game as a gift on gog - alt+x opens the cheat menu, but pressing it again does NOT close it, so it's... kind of on the way.
since it's the same issue, I figured making a new thread would be a waste of space, so here we are: I can't close the cheat menu. how do I close it? lol

Hey, just for info if anybody is reading this old thread... you indeed close the menu with alt + X, just like you open it. It just doesnt work in those short moments when you lift off a planet for example (those short cutscenes). As soon as you get your control back you can open and close it again.
