After 5 hours, I regret buying
Ship and lander systems break constantly, even when my ship's taken zero damage and I wasn't even using the system. Must be the least-reliable vehicle ever built!

In my current playthrough attempt, in ONE HOUR of game time, 3 out of 8 ship systems, and 3 out of 5 lander systems, have just spontaneously broken with no explanation beyond "Wear and Tear".

And, naturally, my "expert crew" can't repair any of them. Each repair uses up a toolkit, and we go off on the first ever FTL drive test with just one.

I looked forward to TLJH eagerly, but now regret spending my money. Maybe they'll patch it, but since their official site doesn't even have a support section nor a forum, I'm not optimistic.

Actually there is a discort channel where you can talk to the developers directly. Everyone is kindly invited and they tend to answer questions and constructive critique very quickly. :)

This is the forum here ^^ A website does not do everything and this does not prevent the developers from working on their game.

i like this game . . it is hard yes and that is good but not too hard. i already see 70 hours in this game. its my third run and i already lost 2 crew member and didnt even leave the first sector. i love it :steamhappy:

honestly im a bit sad that you didnt get that this is about getting home, in a ship not built for purpose.. and not ruling the galactic empire in your awesome top of the line ship.. your ship is flung way off course (not the first FTL jump), you dont have the people or the resources required, and your ship suffers if you make bad decisions.

i think you made bad decisions... we all do in our first few runs, but wether you learn and adapt, or give up is entirely your choice :)

theres no patching it, its not broken.

i must admit i did complain when my i fixed a "blocked injector nozzle" and the next landing i broke it again... The negative effect from taking damage is randomised, and i just got unlucky.. next time i wont land on a planet im not prepared for.

Excuse me? What bad decisions did I make? Since the game gives me no feedback beyond "wear and tear", what lessons am I supposed to learn?

And yes, I naturally made a bunch of them in my first playthroughs. But I got so sick of "wear and tear" breaking brand new subsystems that this time I only moved from orbit to orbit in a single system, and my lander never touched the ground at any time. My ship still ended up about 50% broken! My mining laser had never been turned on at all, but broke in the middle of interplanetary space from "wear and tear".

That isn't me. That's a damned bug.

Nicely stated Maxwell.

Getting home despite the difficulty, despite the unfair rng, despite the challenge!
Be the conqueror of your fate or whine because you bumped your toe on the first rock you encounter. It's your choice.

bad decision, you went into a blackhole or pulsar system.

it didnt tell you not to do it, but thats intentional. sorry dude :/
Tinella 31 May, 2017 @ 7:45am
So your ship took damage without jumping between systems or crashing against some asteroids? sounds strange. Once again I recommend the discord channel

https://discordapp.com/invite/tljh

If it´s a bug, or even just constructive critique, you can report it to the developers and you will find them most cooperative
Tinella 31 May, 2017 @ 7:46am
oh of course I forgot the radiation. That could be the source of your damage taken
redwitch 31 May, 2017 @ 8:01am
wow, I planned to get this game, but reading the typical arrogant attitude of so-called very serous hardcore gamers who ridicule everony who dare to be critical of their fetish game, no thanks, I've read several reviews stating the game has horrible controls, I wanted to ask here what people playing the game think about that critic, but from the reactions here I can already see it's full of people who think playing a game confers them some kind of special social status giving them the right to abuse other people. Have a good day
Maxwell 31 May, 2017 @ 8:08am
im sorry you feel that way redwitch, and i apologise for critising other peoples struggle with some of the games learning curve. i dont think ive abused anybody though :/

im rather blunt but not heartless. either way, you'll always get arrogant people like me who say "i can do it why cant you!" when the game is a bit tough.. im not in the game itself so you dont need to wory about reading anything i say while playing :D

So I chatted with some on the discord channel, and every single suggestion tried blaming me for things I hadn't done. Nobody even tried to address the actual problem, or even acknowledge it happened. Too late for a refund, so you've earned the poor review I'm about to leave.

BE SMART PEOPLE. DON'T BUY THIS GAME UNTIL THEY HAVE REAL SUPPORT.

redwitch,
everywhere are people that don´t seem to get along well with each other and that is totally fine, but you should judge a game for what it offers for you rather than how other players appeal to you. Just my thought
Big Fuzzy 31 May, 2017 @ 8:16am
It DOES say during the game (somewhere, can't remember where) that EVERY jump you make damages your ship to some extent. There's your answer.

Everytime you jump with a damaged ship (you know, the WHOLE premise), something may go wrong.. gasp, imagine that!

So, WHAT "problem" were you discussing?
Was it an issue you were having with the game mechanics, or was it an actual, real "problem"?
