Is it in active development, we don’t believe so (Motorsport Games has pushed Studio 397s focus to almost exclusively on Le Mans Ultimate).

The player counts are low, but the built-in official multiplayer matchmaking does work. No clue about a leaderboard (like for hotlap comps or whatever), was there ever one?

According to Steam charts, there are 150-200 more daily players racing rFactor2 then Le Mans Ultimate.

The online leaderboards are a part of Race Control competition system. Once you are registered, click on the badge in the top right corner, and it will show you your stats.

Most people are not using Race Control, as they have private/league servers, as they run 3rd party/unlicensed content.

The leagues will always keep this game alive. With racecontrol.gg going live next week for private servers/leagues for LMU, plus registering for races, etc, I am hoping they incorporate rF2 into that. It would be great to go to the site, be able to register for a league or private server race in LMU and also register for an online race via the matchmaker in rF2 and be able to launch from there.
Edit - BTW, can still find bronze races at late night EST in the US but during EU times it is usually more populated and can file silver, maybe even gold races (on the matchmaking system)

Wow, I did not know Le Mans Ultimate was doing that bad! I must admit I did not buy it myself as I am not sure about the future of the game, otherwise I would have bought it.

LMU had 2200 players at peak yesterday. Obviously it was higher than usual on release day for the first 4 GT3 cars. Game is not doing bad. It is not doing current ACC numbers or F1 24, etc but looking pretty good

Don't waste your money on this one.
