I can confirm that it does in fact produce issues

Glad I don't use blender on Linux via Steam then. The only reason I did on Windows was autoupdates and on Linux the repo takes care of that, lmao.
As a temporary fix for anyone, you can run it through a compatibility layer "steam play none," which will not run it using any runtime. However, you can also just not use Blender through steam lol.

I will switch to Linux next year when Microsoft close Win 10. I guess this has been fixed by then :)

As I said, no reason to run Blender through Steam on Linux, there is the repo for automatic updates.

Does setting the command line arguments in the properties for Blender to
LD_LIBRARY_PATH="" %command%
work? That's the workaround I used for launching Blender from Godot

From the sounds of it, this is because of the SDL 3.0 release and once initial issues are cleared up, there will be many benefits to enjoy

I can't believe we got SDL3 before Half-Life 3

Just run it without Steam. Only reason I got it on Steam is for automatic updates on Windows. But I run it directly from the program folder, without launching it through Steam.
Granted, I'm not sure exactly how that's handled on Linux. But if you can browse the folder where the actual program is, see if you can launch it directly.
