I'm having the same issue too. Any ideas to solve this out ?

None yet. As far as I can tell, the game startup resolution is set to 1024x768. I didn't even know 1366x768 was a thing until I saw this error message.

Still, I've had issues with some of the developers early access games before, and he's always been quick to respond and very helpful. So I'm confident there will be a solution soon.

I'm having the same issue. i just bought it and havent been able to play it yet. Hopefully they resolve the problem soon.

I ran it in windowed mode, once the game started i tapped alt+enter and it worked for me, on my older laptop

I've been looking for a way to start this app in Window mode. I can't figure out how to do it.

Can you tell me how to start it up windowed so I can try your fix please?

direct yourself to the game folder, by either going through the steps of C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\STAR-BOX or by right click the game in your library and taking you to the folder directly

but to the point what I did was I right clicked the .exe (Game.exe) went into compatibility tab (top) and clicked "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" and selected "Disable display scaling on DPI settings" (weather the DPI is relevant not sure but it was suggested to me)

once i did all that clicked apply, closed the properties window, clicked play in steam and it worked

Thanks for that. I sat and tried following your instructions. Good news was it forced the game to begin in windowed mode. Bad news was that it still popped up with the resolution error message, and tapping alt+enter didn't seem to help.

I bought the game and never could play because of resolution issues. I'm disappointed, i feel ripped-off.

Yeah, it's a shame this issue hasn't been responded to. I really liked his Fortunes Tavern game, was really looking forward to this, and I'm interested in his Apocalypse Hotel release. But I'm now concerned if I picked that up, it wouldn't work either.

Perhaps I should post this again in the Bugs Forum, see if it gets picked up there.

I tested your suggestion. Thank you for reposting it here.

To clarift for anybody else having this problem, you must go to your game file, usually found here:-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\STAR-BOX

There is in that folder a Text Document called 1366x. If you delete this text document, and create a new text document called 1280x768, you should be able to get the game to start.

I tested this myself and it worked for me. I hope this helps you other gamers.
