Are you able to get merits from on foot combat?
Just finding more ways to level with powerplay factions.

If nobody answers, I should at least be able to let you know by the day's end as I plan to do some for the fun of it.

Though, it does raise the question: Why not just pop into a CZ yourself and find out? Even if there's no merits, a few millions credits never hurts.

Yes. Tons.

I've spend the last couple of sessions raiding Aisling settlements in a certain system. The power data you download from data ports is worth 532 merits each. Some terminals have 2 of them. Some bases have 7 data ports.

The power stuff from the containers is worth 72 ea. Some chests have 6 in.

I made 30,000 merits raiding 4 bases and killing everyone. Most NPCs aren't many merits, but you run into some with Powerplay outfits and they're around 250 each.

ETA: not ground CZ, as powers don't own settlements. I'm talking about taking missions to settlements and then slaughtering everyone and looting everything, or even just dropping in at a random settlement and going murder hobo.

There's a reason my notoriety is now 10

Bounty scans on-foot also net you a paltry (4) Merits. :steamdeadpan:

Are you doing these in anarchy systems? I assume not since your notoriety is 10, not sure it would still give merits if so.

CZ does not reward merits per kill sadly, same as in space. Looking forward to your update

It will definitely give merits whether they're anarchy or not. I just happened to be in a particular system where I took missions to the neighbouring system - which was Aisling controlled. So I went to town on all those settlements, eliminating everyone.

It's easy to turn yourself in to remove bounties, especially in a Mandalay or other long-range ship.

Thank you for the info! Turning in these raiding quests rewards merits too? Or just the kills and downloads from terminals

The ones in space that reward merits are distinctly called Power Conflict Zones instead of just an ordinary Conflict Zone.

Power restoration missions pay 1600-1800 merits each.
